Triumph Factory Racing’s Leo Joyon and Mikael Persson Deliver World Trophy Team Podium Results

Racing Triumph Motorcycles 19th Eki 2026

Triumph Factory Racing has enjoyed a strong showing at 6DAYS 2026 with Leo Joyon helping Team France to second overall in the World Trophy class and Mikael Persson joined him on the podium as part of Team Sweden in third. Both riders demonstrated impressive speed and consistency in the tough, dusty conditions in Portugal to end the year on a positive note.

Following his impressive 2026 FIM EnduroGP World Championship campaign in which he placed second overall in both the Junior and Junior1 categories, Joyon stepped up to the World Trophy class for the 6DAYS. Competing aboard his familiar TF 250-E, the young Frenchman was unfazed by the occasion and delivered a best day result of 10th on the opening day.

As the race continued, Joyon underlined his ability by continuing to post solid finishes, and he ultimately secured sixth overall in Enduro1. As a result, he stood on the second step of the World Trophy podium as part of Team France for the first time in his career.

Persson returned to racing after missing the entire EnduroGP season due to injury, and he performed admirably despite his lack of time on the bike. Across the six days of racing, his best result came on day four when he posted the 16th-fastest time. Playing a vital role for Team Sweden, Persson was rewarded for his efforts by placing third overall in the World Trophy classification and eighth in Enduro1.

Representing Team Great Britain, Jamie McCanney started the 6DAYS by finishing 19th on the opening test. Frustratingly, a rare technical issue on day two brought his race to a premature end.

The highest-placed individual rider aboard Triumph machinery at the 2026 6DAYS was JET Triumph Zanardo’s Morgan Lesiardo, who was a member of the winning Team Italy in the World Trophy class. Lesiardo’s result, together with those of Joyon and Persson, meant the top three World Trophy teams featured riders on a Triumph motorcycle, the British brand being the only manufacturer to record such a feat at this year’s 6DAYS.

Next year, the 6DAYS FIM Enduro of Nations takes place on Triumph’s home soil in Great Britain, on 13-18 September.

Leo Joyon

“We’ve just finished the final motocross and, honestly, I really enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun and I’m happy with my riding today, as well as the rest of the week. I finished second overall with Team France, which is a great result, so I’m really pleased with how the 6DAYS has gone. Now it’s time to focus on the final round of the French championship, and then it’s on to next year.”

Mikael Persson

“The 6DAYS has come to an end here on the beach. It wasn’t the best finish for me as I crashed just after the start. We fought all the way to the end and came away with a good result overall. I’m happy with what Team Sweden achieved here at the 6DAYS and for me to come back from injury and finish this event on the podium is amazing.”

Paul Edmondson – Triumph Factory Racing Enduro Team Manager

“Overall, this year’s 6DAYS was certainly a challenge for both the riders and their machines. However, seeing Leo and Miki help their respective teams to second and third place finishes is a fantastic achievement. For Miki, this was also his first major event back after a serious injury, so I know everyone is especially happy for him and what he’s achieved. Unfortunately, Jamie suffered a mechanical issue early in the week, which was really disappointing for both him and his team. That’s the nature of the 6DAYS, though. There are always unknowns and challenges to overcome, and you never quite know what the event will throw at you. For next year, the 6DAYS takes place on home soil for Triumph and the team, and we’re already looking forward to it after a largely positive week at this year’s 6DAYS.”

Ian Kimber – Head of Global Racing Programmes, Triumph Motorcycles

“The completion of 6DAYS brings the outdoor enduro season to a close and to have three riders competing on Triumph machinery on the overall World Trophy podium is really great for us. For Triumph Factory Racing, Leo and Mikael both achieved a lot this year. Leo stepped up for Team France following an excellent EnduroGP campaign in the junior classes, while Mikael missed the whole season and returned for arguably one of the toughest races on the calendar. I’m really proud of both of them. For Jamie to have an issue with his bike is tough to accept, however this is motorsports and anything can happen. Looking beyond the factory team, Morgan Lesiardo once again stood on top of the World Trophy podium for the second year running – another excellent performance for the Italian. Overall, it’s been another positive season of racing and we now look forward to 2027 with excitement as the 6DAYS will take place on British soil in Wales.”
